Qantas Starting New Hop From Melbourne to Jakarta

The new route is set to kick off on April 16, and will be operated on an Airbus A330 three times a week. Qantas already operates a Sydney (SYD)-Jakarta (JKT) route, and the addition of a Melbourne departure will add an additional 6,000 seats/month to & from the Indonesian capital. The MEL-JKT route marks the 3rd new international route added by Qantas, with the other two being to Delhi, India (DEL) and Dallas (DFW). Data from 2020 shows that of all Indonesian-born people living in Australia, 23% reside in Melbourne.
