On Feb. 16, JFK Intl. airport suffered a power outage, which has now stretched into its second day (Feb. 17.) The outage has caused several delays & cancellations for passengers and flights, with some flights being turned around enroute. Air New Zealand was one involved flights, as they were 8 hours into a 16 hour flight from Auckland, NZ when they were forced to turn back. A fire was the cause of the power outage, which affected Terminal 1, where the international flights arrive. International flights are now being handled through Terminal 4. The outage in T1 is so widespread that the Arrival/Departure flight board had to be hand-written. Welcome to New York!
